Your Past Doesn’t Control Your Future

Of course, there are many defining moments in life which shape our character and make us who we are today. Good occasions and bad times which act as signposts in life taking us one way or the other.

The weird thing is we tend to allow the negatives in life to control us and our potential for the future way more than the good things that have happened to us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.’ (NKJV)

When Christ steers the ship of our lives our full potential ‘through Him’ can be realised. It’s time to drop the baggage of the past, escape from the prison of those negative times and fully embrace the possibility of a brighter future. Don’t let your past define you, let your future do that.

Quote

Don’t let your past define you, let your future do that.

Prayer

Lord let the months ahead of me, release your full potential within me, Amen

Action Point

If you keep a diary, mark today down as the day you decided to be released from the prison of your past.
