Having A Coffee With God

Carl Brettle

Updated: Feb 5

There are lots of people who time their day down to the minute, who have to book times in their diary, making a list for every activity for the day. Life gets so busy that out attention shifts from our relationship with God to the things that distract us from Him.

Have you ever thought about scheduling time for God each day, an appointment if you like, something resembling the routine you have with a best friend. Often a coffee a chat and a catch up. God wants our attention and friendship.

Psalm 119:103 says ‘How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!’. (NKJV) If we could have a metaphorical ‘coffee with God’ wouldn’t that fellowship be wonderful, vibrant, full of joy, deep and intimate, fun and serious. He’s the creator of the universe and the author and finisher of our own faith.

Quote

I’d rather spend an hour with God than a lifetime without Him.

Prayer

Daddy, thank you, that every time I seek you, I find you. I love you, Amen.

Action Point

So go do it, set aside an extra hour a week, a special time outside of your routine to have a little time with Him!
