Consider What You Wear

Carl Brettle

What we wear often speaks volumes before we even say a word. Our clothing choices can reflect respect, dignity, and also a heart that honours God. While fashion and personal style are not wrong, we should always consider whether what we wear helps or hinders those around us. Modesty is not about restriction—it is about walking in wisdom and ensuring that our outward appearance aligns with a heart devoted to God.

1 Timothy 2:9 reminds us, “In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing” (NKJV). This verse encourages balance—choosing clothing that reflects humility and grace rather than drawing unnecessary attention.

Dressing with wisdom isn’t about rules; it’s about honouring God and being mindful of others. Let your clothing reflect the beauty of a heart that seeks Him first.
