Books Of The Bible : Job

Carl Brettle

The book of Job is an incredible reminder that faith is not just about having an easy life, but mainly about trusting God even in the darkest seasons. Job lost everything—his wealth, his family, his health—yet he refused to turn his back on God. His story teaches us that even when we don’t understand the struggles we face, God is still in control, working behind the scenes for our good.

Job 23:10 says, “But he knows where I am and what I’ve done. He can cross-examine me all he wants, and I’ll pass the test with honours” (MSG). Job’s confidence in God, despite his suffering, challenges us to trust that our pain has purpose. Faith is not about seeing the answers—it’s about believing in God’s goodness no matter what.

Hold onto faith like Job did. Storms may come, but God’s plan for you is never shaken.

Quote

Faith is holding on when everything says let go.

Prayer

Lord, help me to trust You through every season, knowing that You are always faithful. Amen.

Action Point

Read Job’s story and reflect on how his endurance can strengthen your own faith journey.
