When we first became Christians, the joy of knowing Jesus filled our hearts with an overwhelming love. That first love is a treasure, a moment when everything seemed centred on Christ and His goodness. But as life moves on, it’s easy for distractions and routines to dim that initial passion.
Revelation 2:4-5 reminds us, “You walked away from your first love—why? What’s going on with you, anyway? Do you have any idea how far you’ve fallen? Turn back! Recover your dear early love. No time to waste, for I’m well on my way to removing your light” (MSG). This passage is both a challenge and an invitation to rekindle the fire that first drew us to Him.
By daily seeking Him in prayer, worship, and His Word, we keep our hearts anchored in that first love, ensuring our relationship with Christ remains vibrant and central to our lives.
