00965 - The Debt Of Love

Carl Brettle

It’s odd to think of love as a debt in any aspect of life yet love is the one debt we are called to owe continually—a debt that can never be fully repaid. Romans 13:8 says, “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law” (NKJV). Love is the fulfilment of God’s commands, the foundation of all our interactions and relationships.

When we choose to love, we reflect the heart of Christ, who first loved us unconditionally. The debt of love isn’t burdensome; rather, it’s an invitation to live in the freedom of selflessness and grace. It transforms our daily encounters into opportunities to serve, uplift, and encourage others.

Let love guide your words and actions today. By living out this calling, we point others to God’s incredible love, fulfilling His command and bringing His Kingdom closer to earth.

Quote

The debt of love is repaid daily through acts of grace.

Prayer

Lord, help me to love others as You have loved me, fulfilling Your command in my life. Amen.

Action Point

Show love to someone today through a thoughtful act or kind word, expecting nothing in return.
