There were four people called Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realised that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. It sounds like a dysfunctional group if there ever was one.
1 Peter 4:10 reminds us, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (ESV). That’s much clearer for the tasks ahead.
Don’t leave important tasks undone, assuming others will handle them. Instead, answer God’s call to serve. Through your actions, you honour Him and make a difference in the lives of others.
