00843 - Christian Liturgy

Christian liturgy is a structured form of worship that includes prayers, readings, hymns, and sacraments. It guides us in connecting with God and offers a rhythm to our worship, helping us focus on God's presence and truth. Liturgy is deeply rooted in tradition, drawing us closer to God through familiar and meaningful practices. As 1 Corinthians 14:40 (AMP) states, "But all things must be done appropriately and in an orderly manner," highlighting the importance of order in worship.

Participating in liturgy deepens our journey by grounding us in the core elements of our belief. The repetition of creeds, prayers, and scripture readings reinforces God’s word in our hearts and minds, strengthening our faith.

Moreover, liturgy creates a sense of unity among believers. Knowing we are joining Christians worldwide in these time-honoured practices reminds us we are part of a larger faith community, walking together in worship and spiritual growth.
