00797 - Jehovah-Nissi

Jehovah-Nissi means "The Lord is My Banner" and signifies God's protection and leadership. Moses first used this name after the Israelites' victory over the Amalekites. Exodus 17:15 (NASB) states, "And Moses built an altar and named it The Lord is My Banner.”

Understanding Jehovah-Nissi can build our faith. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles; God is our banner, leading and shielding us. When we face challenges, recalling this name encourages us to trust in His guidance and strength, knowing He is actively fighting for us and ensuring our victory.

By embracing Jehovah-Nissi, we learn to rely more on God's power and less on our abilities. This trust fosters a deeper relationship with Him, filled with confidence and peace. Recognising Him as our banner inspires us to live boldly, knowing that with God on our side, we can emerge victorious in all of life's battles.

Quote

When God is our banner, the enemy will know God is fighting for us.

Prayer

Father, thank You for protecting me; You are Jehovah-Nissi indeed. Amen.

Action Point

Take a read of Exodus chapters 15-18. It’s very insightful.
