Getting our soul into shape for the journey of faith as a Christian is much like preparing for a long trip. Just as we care for our physical health, we must nurture our spiritual well-being. Regular prayer, Bible reading, and fellowship.
1 Timothy 4:8 (NASB) says, "For bodily training is just slightly beneficial, but godliness is beneficial for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." This reminds us that while exercise is essential, nurturing our spiritual life has eternal benefits.
To shape our souls, we need to be intentional about our disciplines. Set aside time each day for prayer and meditation on God's word. Engage in worship and community with other believers, and seek to live out your faith through acts of kindness and service. Doing so prepares us for the journey ahead, grounded in God’s love and truth.
