When you consider that the list below was written around 250 years ago, it’s amazing how relevant it is for today. Wesley, the great Methodist reformer, wrote these points (summarised) for a better world.
1) Reduce the gap between rich and poor. 2) Help everyone find a job. 3) Introduce a living wage. 4) Offer the best education possible. 5) Help people feel they ane make a difference. 6) Promote Tolerance. 7) Equal Treatment for Women. 8) Build a Society based on Values, not Profit. 9) End Slavery. 10) Avoid getting into wars. 11) Share the love of God with everyone. 12) Care for the environment.
Hebrews 13:8 says, ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.’ (NIV) The more we focus on Jesus in our lives and in society, the more we’ll see these manifesto points take shape automatically. Jesus is the answer to it all.
Quote The manifesto for change society needs is Jesus.
Prayer
Lord, help me live life more like this, to care for everyone and everything around me. Amen.
