It’s one of the most difficult questions a Christian will ask. Why didn’t God help us?
What does God make of stewardship of the world? Structures that fail in earth quakes. Extreme wealth of some and starvation of others. Genetically altered crops to produce more profit. Consuming so much sugar and highly processed food. Earth is polluted with carbon emissions and littered with plastic waste. All of that has an effect on us!
It feels unfair when someone we love seems snatched away, or something happens which makes us feel God has abandoned us. Ultimately, the body we live in is temporary and the spirit within us eternal. Perhaps God sees our time here as a moment and beyond that our real lives begin. Romans 8:22 says ‘We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.’ (NIV)
Quote
